BENNINGTON, Vt. (NEWS10) -- The Bennington Police Department is attempting to locate Rachel Marsha, 40, who was reported missing on April 11. Marsha was reportedly last seen on Sunday, April 9, around 5 p.m. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! ALBANY, N.Y. (NEWS10) -- On Monday evening, Albany Police pulled over a vehicle on the 300 block of First Street in reference to a stolen vehicle investigation. Detectives determined that the vehicle, a 2022 Mitsubishi, was reported stolen on Saturday, April 8. Get the latest, news, weather, sports and community events delivered right to your inbox! Police took the driver, a 17-year-old Albany resident into custody. The suspect was also found to have a loaded 9mm handgun concealed in his waistband.The suspect was charged with one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Second Degree, one count of Criminal Possession of a Weapon in the Third Degree, and one count of Criminal Possession of Stolen Property in the Third Degree. Police say the individual was also identified as the suspect who stole a vehicle from a parking lot on the 300 block of Central Avenue on April 5. Residents of metropolitan Los Angeles and California’s Inland Empire don’t get high marks when it comes to neighborly love.A new study from AmeriCorps and the U.S. Census Bureau titled "Volunteering and Civic Life in America" shows metro L.A. and the Riverside area have some of the lowest rates of volunteerism among the nation's largest cities.The data was gathered from September 2020-21 and ranked 12 metro areas based on formal volunteering, like belonging to an organization, and “informal helping,” defined as exchanging favors with a neighbor.Riverside ranked dead last in formal volunteering with just 9% of those surveyed saying they belong to an organization that helps others. Police have arrested a suspect who allegedly used a permanent marker to vandalize an Islamic Center in Koreatown with hateful comments over the weekend.The incident occurred around 12:40 a.m. Sunday at the Islamic Center of Southern California, located at 434 S. Vermont Ave., according to the Los Angeles Police Department. The man is accused of writing “anti-Islamic hate words” on the property and then running from the area north on Vermont Avenue.Police released a surveillance image of the suspect and described him as being around 40 to 50 years old, 5 feet 9 inches tall and 180 pounds.
