Kingston and the Islands MPP Ted Hsu saw his bid to lead the Ontario Liberal Party in the next election come to an end last Saturday, with Bonnie Crombie being selected as the leader of the provincial party. Hsu entered as a candidate for the position in late May, and remained in the race until the first round of this weekend’s voting where he was eliminated with a 10 percent vote share among the four remaining candidates. Hsu said he and his team didn’t expect to win but based on projections they were a bit disappointed to not garner more support, however the MPP said “it is what it is” and he’s focused on his work at Queen’s Park and working alongside the new Liberal leader. He said the candidates are for the most part on the same page when it comes to priorities. “I think over the course of the leadership race the different candidates policy and agendas started to converge,” Hsu said.“What we want to do now is rebuild the part...Over 3% of all homes in Colorado are vacation homes

Today it felt like winter and tomorrow it will look like winter (for some of us). Temperatures this morning actually weren’t too bad, waking up in the 30s. The problem was a lot of clouds today and a north wind that pumped in colder air all afternoon, our temperatures made zero progress from this morning. The north wind was a result of two areas of low pressure offshore from us. The one to the east had more of an influence on our weather today. It caused our north winds and the cold wind over the warmer ocean waters caused enough instability to create a few rain and snow showers over the Cape. Because of the northerly direction, the Cape is the only area that had water to its north and thus the only spot that dealt with the spotty showers.Tomorrow morning the second area of low pressure will control our wind and that will cause them to take a slightly more easterly direction. That more easterly direction will expose the entire coastline of Massachusetts to the onshore wind, whi...Diamond Baseball Holdings to purchase majority ownership of Worcester Red Sox

At first blush, the scratching of Johnny Beecher for last Saturday’s game in Toronto may have seemed a bit rash to some. The rookie centerman had scored three goals in his previous six games, not bad for a fourth line pivot. His faceoff win percentage is currently at 56.2%, impressive for a rookie. The emergence of Beecher and fellow rookie Matt Poitras has been key for the Bruins after the retirements of Patrice Bergeron and David Krejci. But in important areas, especially for the role he’s asked to play, Beecher had been slipping. He knew, and so did coach Jim Montgomery. So the former Michigan Wolverine was given a quick reset in the form of a press box view in Toronto and it seemed to do the trick.“I had a meeting with Monty,” said Beecher on Tuesday. “He just kind of called me in and asked me how I thought I’d been playing. And I just said there really hasn’t been anything too fantastic going on, not playing the game fast enough. And he just said that I ne...Latest news
